Who We Are

A World Missions subcommittee is working to facilitate global medical assistance to ministries and churches involved in using medicine to reach their communities for the gospel. Committee members are working to increase the capacity of 1st Presbyterian church to send short-term teams in response to requests for medical assistance at home and abroad.

Who Can Participate in Medical Missions


Licensed medical practitioners and non-medical personnel

who have the skills to be part of a team experience are necessary to the success of medical mission outreach. Like all medical settings, non-medical support staff are essential for providing quality medical care.

FAQs

  • God calls us to engage missionally to reach the world for the gospel. One way to engage in this calling is to show Christ’s love with hands-on care for those in physical need. Through that care the gospel can be seen and shared.

  • Attend the Global Missions Health Conference to learn more about medical missions. The 2025 conference is in Louisville, KY November 6-8th. CMEs are available.

  • If you desire to be part of medical missions at 1st Presbyterian Church pray about how you can be involved. There are many ways to support the work:


    • Prayer support for medical missions
    • Financial support for short-term mission teams
    • Become part of a roster of individuals who may be interested in a medical mission trip
